This 3 Day Classic Safari in Nyerere National Park offers the ideal blend of game drives, river experiences and peaceful moments. Located in southern Tanzania, Nyerere National Park, formerly known as Selous, is vast, wild and teeming with life.
First, a scenic drive from Dar es Salaam through small villages and open landscapes. As you enter the park, the scenery shifts to wide savannahs. Aacacia forests and winding rivers that hint at the adventures ahead. The first evening brings a relaxing boat safari along the Rufiji River. The experience is both tranquil and thrilling. You may see hippos surfacing nearby, crocodiles gliding silently through the water and elephants drinking at the river’s edge as the sun sets.
Second, a day dedicated to a game drive. This is your chance to explore deeper into the park’s heart, where lions patrol the plains and giraffes move gracefully among the trees. Your guide will share insights about animal behavior and the balance of this wild ecosystem.
Finally, enjoy one last game drive at sunrise. You can also choose an optional walking safari for a closer look at the smaller details of the bush. After breakfast, you will begin your return journey.
