Health Precautions

1. Vaccinations & Health Checks
   Before traveling, consult with your doctor about necessary vaccinations, such as Yellow Fever, Hepatitis A/B, Typhoid, and Malaria prevention. It's important to follow any local health guidelines or recommendations.
2. Malaria Prevention
   Malaria is present in many areas, so it’s advisable to take anti-malarial medication as recommended by your healthcare provider. Additionally, wear long sleeves and use insect repellent, especially at dawn and dusk when mosquitoes are most active.
3. Stay Hydrated
   Dehydration is common in hot climates. Drink plenty of water (which we provide daily) and avoid drinking from untreated water sources to prevent illness.
4. First Aid Kit
   Pack a small first aid kit with essentials, such as pain relievers, band-aids, antiseptic cream, insect repellent, and any personal medications. If you have allergies or specific medical conditions, make sure to bring enough medication.

5. Wildlife Safety
   Our guides are trained to keep you safe around wildlife. Always stay inside the vehicle during game drives unless your guide tells you it’s safe to exit. Never approach animals on foot, and always follow your guide’s instructions for wildlife encounters.
6. Vehicle Safety
   Wear your seatbelt at all times during game drives. Safari vehicles are designed to provide optimal viewing while keeping you safe, but following basic safety rules is key.
7. Travel with a Guide
   Always stay with your guide and group—our professional guides are there to ensure your safety and enrich your experience.
8. Avoid Walking Alone in Remote Areas
   When not on a game drive, avoid walking alone in remote or unfamiliar areas. Stick to designated areas where you are safe and in the company of a guide.
9. Keep Your Belongings Secure
   While Tanzania, Kenya, Uganda, and Rwanda are generally safe for travelers, it's important to keep your personal belongings secure. Use a lock for your luggage, and keep valuable items like passports and electronics in a secure place.
10. Emergency Contacts
    Keep a list of emergency contacts, including your guide’s number, local embassy, and Safari 56’s contact information. Our team is always ready to assist if needed.

Food & Water Safety

11. Safe Eating & Drinking
    We ensure that all food served during your safari meets high hygiene standards. However, it’s recommended to avoid street food and tap water. Drink only bottled or purified water, and avoid ice unless you're sure it’s made from clean water.
12. Rest & Sleep
    Safaris can be physically demanding, so ensure you get enough rest each night to stay energized for early morning game drives. If you're feeling unwell, inform your guide immediately.

Weather Considerations

13. Dress for the Climate
    East Africa’s weather can vary. It’s hot and sunny during the day, and temperatures can drop at night. We recommend bringing light, breathable clothing for the day, and warmer layers for the evening and early morning.
14. Sun Protection
    Use a high SPF sunscreen, wear a hat and seek shade when possible to avoid sunburn.

We accept payments via bank transfer to our designated account. Once you’ve confirmed your booking, we’ll provide the necessary account details. This is a secure and widely used method for international payments.

3. PayPal

We accept payments through PayPal for clients preferring online transactions. This method is secure, convenient, and widely used for international payments.

Payment Schedule

• Deposit: A deposit is required to confirm your booking. The amount will vary depending on the package and number of travelers.
• Final Payment: The balance is due before your departure or on the first day of your safari, depending on prior arrangements.

At Safari 56 Limited, we do not directly provide travel insurance. However, we strongly recommend that all our clients purchase comprehensive travel insurance before embarking on their safari.

Travel insurance can cover:

• Medical emergencies while traveling
• Lost baggage or personal items
• Emergency evacuation etc.

We advise that you consult with your insurance provider to ensure your policy covers safari-specific needs, including wildlife-related activities and medical treatment in remote areas.
