Day 1
Momela Gate to Miriakamba Hut (Full Board)
Drive from hotel in Arusha to Momela Gate
Short registration at the gate before the trek begins
Start trekking with a fully armed ranger escort
Wildlife sightings along the way
Dinner and overnight stay at Miriakamba Hut
Hiking duration: 5–7 hours
Altitude: Momela Gate to Miriakamba Hut (2,500 m)
Day 2
Miriakamba Hut to Saddle
Trek from Miriakamba Hut to Saddle Hut, located below Little Meru
A short but steep climb through scenic mountain terrain
Hike follows the ridge, offering spectacular views of the Meru Crater and the impressive Ash Cone
Hot lunch served at Saddle Hut
Afternoon hike to the summit of Little Meru (3,820 m) for Panoramic sunset views
Dinner and overnight stay at Saddle Hut
Hiking duration: 3–5 hours
Altitude: Miriakamba Hut to Saddle Hut (3,500 m)
Day 3
Saddle Hut to Summit to Miriakamba Hut to Momela Gate (Full Board)
Early start at around 1:30 a.m.
Steep ascent to Rhino Point (3,800 m) and Cobra Point (4,350 m)
Reach the summit (4,566 m) in time for sunrise, Possible views of Mount Kilimanjaro above the clouds
Final section follows a narrow ridgeline between Sheer inner cliffs and sloping outer wall of the crater
Descend back to Saddle Hut for a short rest and brunch
Continue descent to Momela Gate
Transfer back to Arusha for overnight hotel stay or Airport drop off.
